AARON TEITELBAUM

Aaron is an experienced trial lawyer, antitrust litigator, and former federal prosecutor. He has a decade of experience leading investigations and trial teams at the state and federal levels, in fields ranging from antitrust, to white collar fraud and money laundering, to attempted murder and home invasion robbery. He has tried approximately 15 cases to verdict in federal and state courts around the country and conducted over 50 additional evidentiary hearings and other court proceedings.  As an appellate advocate he has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the California Court of Appeal. A seasoned courtroom lawyer and litigator, Aaron consistently delivers results at trial and in all other stages of litigation.

Before joining Kressin Powers, Aaron most recently served as a Senior Litigation Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. During his time there, Aaron co-led two of the most significant antitrust trials of recent years, the Department's challenge of JetBlue Airways' acquisition of Spirit Airlines, and the Department's action against Google alleging unlawful monopolization of certain digital advertising technology markets. He is a three-time recipient of the Assistant Attorney General Honorary Award for his advocacy, once as an individual honoree and twice for his work as part of these two trial teams.

Aaron served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Colorado before joining the Antitrust Division, serving in the Cybercrime and National Security Section and the Narcotics Section. He led complex investigations — including multiple long-term wiretap investigations — into various forms of cyberattacks and internet-based fraud schemes, theft of trade secrets, public corruption, money laundering, and narcotics trafficking. As the Office’s Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (CHIP) attorney, Aaron was responsible for advising other prosecutors in the Office on matters related to electronic evidence and electronic investigations, including the interpretation and application of the Stored Communications Act and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. During his time as the CHIP, Aaron also overhauled the Office’s process for generating search warrants and other legal process.

Aaron’s notable trial victories at the U.S. Attorney’s Office included the first federal jury trial conviction for marijuana trafficking following Colorado’s decriminalization of certain forms of marijuana possession. He also secured the jury trial conviction of a technology company CEO for embezzlement of employee benefit funds and tax crimes. Aaron successfully defended both of those convictions before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, resulting in published opinions affirming the convictions.

Aaron began his career as a prosecutor at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where he tried a variety of cases ranging from attempted murder, to home invasion robbery, to narcotics trafficking.

Aaron earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Biological Sciences and Music before pursuing a career as a lawyer. As a musician, he performed at Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, and the Aspen Music Festival.
