Kressin Powers congratulates the litigation teams of the Department of Justice Antitrust Division and 17 states attorneys general on their win before the Eastern District of Virginia challenging Google’s Ad Tech monopoly.

In the second landmark ruling finding Google a monopolist, Judge Leonie Brinkema of the Eastern District of Virgina found Google unlawfully monopolized the markets for publisher ad servers and ad exchanges in violation of Section 2 of the Sherman Act. The Court also found that Google unlawfully tied its publisher ad server (DFP) to its ad exchange (AdX) in violation of both Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act.

Kressin Power’s own Aaron Teitelbaum played a key role on the DOJ team, serving as co-lead counsel for the three-week trial last September. As the New York Times reports, in closing arguments, Aaron explained: “These are the markets that make the free and open internet possible.”

Congratulations to Aaron and the entire litigation team!
